    Thin coats is the key

    I treated my faded car seat with a black re-coloring restorer. It worked well but left the seat very grippy and wore off over time due to the added friction. This plastic top coat was the solution. It will streak with thick coats so the key is multiple very thin layers. Now I slide nicely over the seat when getting in and out of the car and the color restorer doesn’t wear off.

    I believe this product works well, but…

    I haven’t had it on the couch long enough for me to make any judgments. I can say that it went on perfectly and the finished restored area looks beautiful. I have not experienced any loss of color as yet nor have I seen evidence of any color on my skin or other materials that have come in contact with the restored area. I would have to say that the product works well, but only time will tell how well. Right now I would give 4 stars, if it lasts into the future as I think it will, I would raise it to 5 stars. As a side note: The products from this company are completely reliable and do what they say they will do.

    This stuff worked wonders

    Our cream colored leather chair had a stain on it–I tried everything to get it out. Finally tried bleach in frustration.(bad idea, BTW) It turned an icky shade of brown in the stained area. My sister suggested this product so I ordered it.My chair looks beautiful now. I ended up retouching not only the stained area, but other worn areas to blend it all in. I didn’t realize at first that there was a sealer, but I ordered it and applied it and that old chair looks nearly new.I just did it last week, so I can’t speak to longevity, but I’m no longer in the market for a new leather chair.I did follow all the directions to the letter. I used the cleaner, let it dry thoroughly, applied, waited 72 hours and then applied sealer. But I’m very pleased.

    Not satin it’s high gloss

    The “satin” finish is high gloss don’t put it on car seat for home furniture it’s probably fine but don’t buy it if you want anything close to matte

    This restorer, restored my faith in amazing products!

    Absolutely love it!! I bought three other brands prior and was not happy with the results. The first one I bought was from a very well known brand name company that sells paint and sealers for leather. So was not happy with it at all. This company by far has the best product and price on the market!! I will be back for more. Thank you so much!!

    This was the most amazing leather restorer I have ever used. The only reason I selected this product is because of the really good reviews. I was very pessimistic before I ordered it for the reason I couldn’t believe a product this in-expensive could possibly give me the results I got.     Glossier than I expected

    I applied this over the Leather Restorer product on leather furniture. It went on well and coverage was very good. Unfortunately, I thought satin would be more toward the matte – as, say, satin varnish is. Instead it was glossy – certainly more glossy than the original Leather Restorer finish. I tried it out first on the ottoman and when I saw the results opted not to use it on the couch and chair.

    Incredible results!

    I only wish I had taken a before photo! The final result is beautiful! I bought a used Lexus and really the only thing wrong with it was the driver seat had a lot of wear on it leaving ugly stretch marks. I used Leather Hero and it looks brand new again!

    It was supposed to have a satin finish but I think it’s more glossy than satin. For the project that I used it on, it didn’t matter. But if you must have a satin finish I would look some where else.

    So far so good restoring the finish on a couch. Easy to apply. Yes, some may consider it more low gloss than satin, but that’s subjective. I hit mine with a 600 grit wet sandpaper to reduce the shine, which worked well. Disclaimer: I don’t know what this will do to longevity. Made in the US of A!

    Seriously brilliant

    I was sceptical, but we have a very expensive leather sofa, that is delaminating in sections (finish, not leather). I scraped off the delaminated area on the arm (approx 6″x8″), applied the sealer with a sponge brush. It is milky, not viscous and rather runny, so you apply carefully (not so much it will run). I came back 1 hour later and I was stunned that the arm of my very expensive sofa looked brand new again !!!! One of the best products I have ever bought on amazon.

    Terrific Product

    I used another product before this one and thought for the price I would try this. However, it works better than the other. I bought two colors and the kit as well. I am very pleased with the results. The color covers any tear or crack in real leather or vinyl. It works miracles. On one vinyl chair I used the top coat and did not even need it on the real leather. I will certainly recommend this and will buy it again if necessary.I have bought this product again and it works wonders. I bought white for real leather chairs with cracks and it filled in the cracks and then added top coat. The chairs look new. it is a wonderful product. My hat off to your Company for making such an amazing product.

    My Sofa looks like new!

    I purchased the Hero leather products (cleaner conditioner, color restore-dark brown, and top coat leather sealant, to redo our 15 year old leather sofa after I replaced the sofa seat cushion foam. The Hero three step process resulted in a near new appearance of our sofa. With the new seat cushion foam the sofa is very comfortable again. I will update this review if there are any problems with the leather color staying or the appearance of the sofa fading.

    Great final coat

    I had a leather used sofa. After one time cleaning it I noticed all the leather was cracking so I tried to repair it, this top coat is amazing and while the sofa was not worth saving in the end I found this final coat which is amazing. It fills in cracks and is the last step I am using in my furniture remodels

    Limited Duration and Effect

    I’ve used several products over the years. This one was the shortest duration and least impactful. It felt like a waste of time and energy to put in on and buff as I saw little improvement. It could be that my leather is just getting too old to be resuscitated.

    Worked well on sheep skin

    Great finishing product for the color restorer

    I bought this product along with the Leather Hero color Restorer after a brand new pair of leather shoes, (first time I wore them) were damaged from a cooking oil spill. I hated the thought of throwing away a pair of brand new expensive leather shoes, but I couldn’t wear them or donate them due to the damage. Even after lifting the stain with a degreaser, the damage was still evident. The Color Restorer brought my shoes back to life, looking like new again and the Sealant finished and sealed the job! I highly recommend both products if you have damage to your leather shoes.

    Worked Great!

    Couldn’t be happier!

    Don’t let the humble appearance of this simple little bottle fool you! It really works!!I deliberately waited several weeks to post this just to make sure. My feet had rubbed dull areas into a brown leather ottoman. After applying color, I did a couple coats of Leather Hero and it created a beautiful very durable shine. Putting my feet on it seems to have no effect now! The shine lives on!

    I have two mahogany color leather recliners which lost color on the arm rests and seats. I thought I would have to replace them (not Inexpensive) so I decided to try to recolor the worn parts. I found Leather hero, a very moderately priced recolor kit. And, voila! It worked! After waiting 72 hours for the product to dry completely (color darkens as it dries), I covered the leather with the top coat sealant. The recliners look great!

    Wow

    Wow – I am at a loss for words to describe how impressed I am with this product. Used it on 26 year old leather car seats that had small lines and cracks with some loss of the original tan color. This product restored about 99% of the color and brought back the original shine. The shine is slightly more than satin but I would not call it gloss.

    Sheen Is Relative

    Other reviews have questioned whether or not the sheen is really satin. I did a comparison between Leather Hero and Fiebing’s Pro Resist and the difference is stark. Clearly, the Pro Resist is much glossier and really deepens the black dye. The Leather Hero is a much duller sheen and a more flat looking black.Keep in mind these are not professional photos and that makes a difference. Lighting will tell you any story the photographer wants to tell. These are quick snapshots from a phone in poor lighting. Trust me when I tell you that what you see by eye is even more pronounced than what you see in these pics but I feel you CAN see a difference from these pics, so I have included them.Hope this helps. And by the way, I ordered two bottles and they were both just fine (fully liquid).

    Easy to Use Durable Finish

    First time restoring leather and applying a leather finish. This was straightforward to use and left a strong and flexible finish on the vintage chairs we restored. Like others have noted, it was slightly glossier than I would have expected for ‘satin’ but still looks great.

    Good at first

    At first I was super pleased with this stuff! It matched perfectly with my couches and it was very easy to get on. I had it sit for 3 days AND used the sealant stuff on it and it held up good for about 4 days and then it started to run off or when I wiped it down with some Lysol wipes just to clean the couch (I have a 2 year old and they get dirty) the brown came off. I did everything right but it still seemed to slowly come off. I definitely think for restoring a purse or something that isn’t “high traffic” it will hold up good but just not the best for couches. These pics are the same day I did them and turned our amazing however, all came off within a week AFTER the 3 day sitting period.

    Saved my shoes!

    I bought this as a last ditch effort to save the lining of a pair of boots. It hit all the marks for my application, and I think it did well. I can’t speak to it’s durability for car seats or furniture, but I recommend for this sort of application.That fake pleather crap they use on things was flaking into the fine death dust in a pair of boots I bought second hand… Had I realized the interior, maybe I wouldn’t have gone for them, but the exterior of the boot is a beautiful, tooled genuine leather. I repair things for a living and got cocky.I asked a local cobbler, said it was not worth it. I looked up diy ideas. Toss em was pretty much it. Fine! Screw everyone. I’ll do it myself.I slapped on a mask and rubbed out all the loose plastic upper that makes “pleather” from the fabric (it was patchy), I bought black in this brand’s dye, and recolored the inside. This didn’t stop the flaking quite like I was hoping to but achieved a good aesthetic for whatever that’s worth inside a shoe. When I found this sealant, I figured why not? Worth a shot. In for a penny….It has solved the problem absolutely. Flakes are contained. The interior of the boot is by no means new, but I am certain it gave me a couple more years. With repeated applications when needed, maybe many more. We’ll see the shelf life of the product. I didn’t use much for the surface area.The finish is very thin. When applying, it can be difficult to believe you got that spot. It’s a very thin solution that seems to absorb a bit and becomes clear on application. I could see how others may have applied too heavily and wound up with an uneven, brushed finish very easily. Thin coats and patience on the dry time recommended.It feels very durable, certainly water resistant, and it has a flexible surface tension. Perfect for the interior of a shoe. If you have a pair of shoes you want to save from the garbage heap, it’s worth the couple bucks. I can’t speak to it’s durability at the moment, but I’m happy with my initial results and day of testing.
