The best investment if you will work with it.

I have a cleaning business and I tried many different vacuum cleaners. Miele never let me down.I’m a domestic organizer by profession and I decided to invest in a quality vacuum for my business. I researched a lot and never paid so much for a vacuum, but I would say it’s totally worth it! Not only will it save time with my work, but I recently moved to a very old house with carpets and I have a 1 year old so vacuuming the floor is extremely necessary. But most vacuum cleaners are heavy and difficult to handle but this little bug made my life a lot easier, this vacuum is so powerful that it lifts everything, whether it’s on the wooden floor or carpet! The floor accessory works for both floors, but I would recommend the air-actuated brush for any carpet and the swivel floor tool for hard floor. The rotating brush moves around things very easily.Incredible power. So light and easy to use. Silent whisper. It stores very well with ways to lock the wand in an upright position. It cleans amazing. I love all the attachments on board. If I could change something, I would make the electric cable longer. To answer the question you are asking yourself, YES! Definitely worth the money.

    Amazing

It’s lightweight. Easy to maneuver. I don’t even sweep any more. I use the hard floor attachment daily. It’s perfect. Best vaccum I’ve ever owned.

    Its worth the money

Incredible power. So light and easy to use. Whisper quiet. Stores great with ways to lock the wand upright. It cleans amazing. Love all the attachments on board. As crazy as this sounds, vacuuming is now something that I look forward to instead of dreading. If you have alot of carpet or really deep shag carpet you will want to go with the more expensive version that has the electric powered brush head. The airflow powered brush head does a good job on low pile but even that bogs it down a little. Its the perfect choice for my house. The electric powered head will add more weight and more noise, which I would not want. If you just have area rugs and hard floors, go with the cheaper version without the airflow head. This vacuum has so much power I find myself just using the hard floor brush on area rugs instead of changing heads. If I could change one thing, I would make the electric cord longer. To answer the question you are wondering, YES! its definitely worth the money.

    Light, Quiet, and Powerful Suction

This vacuum has strong suction and is quiet and light. The hardwood attachment is fairly wide and does a good job on open areas. It’s almost too wide for stairs if you are working your way down, but okay if moving up. The turbo carpet cleaner does a decent job, but if you turn the suction all the way up it will dig in making it hard to move back and forth across the carpet. The cord is shorter than what I’m used to so I have to unplug it more often. Overall, I’m satisfied with this vacuum and plan to keep it since most of my floors are hard wood. If I had a house full of carpet, I’d get something with a better carpet cleaner.

    Best Vacuum Great Price

I bought this vacuum about a year ago after searching for one which was not made in China. Mine is made in Germany. So happy. After years with a Dyson, this was so much better. My model uses bags instead of dumping the dirt directly into the trash, so much nicer than breathing in and having to touch all the dirt. The filter is also simple to replace. The suction is excellent. I use the power head to vacuum area rugs as we have no carpeting. We also have many animals running around so I must vacuum common areas every other day. The unit is light and easy to maneuver. I no longer dread schlepping out the vacuum. The blue color is a nice touch. The attachments are sufficient for every job. The price was so much less than the most other models. I highly recommend this product for any of your vacuum needs.

    Love My Miele Vacuum!

This model has a beater bar, which works wonderfully for the two rooms that have carpet. The rest of the house is wood floors. I knew it would do a wonderful job on the wood floors. I’m especially pleased with the beater bar attachment. You won’t go wrong getting this vacuum cleaner!

The Best Vacuum I’ve Ever Used

I’m a simple man and I appreciate quality. This thing is dripping with quality. Not interested in Dyson because I don’t like overpaying for something that looks futuristic but actually isn’t. I would rather go for a company that is less widely popular, but has made quality products in the industry for many years. Miele fit this bill and I have no regrets spending the money on it.I’ve tried cordless vacuums and cheaper vacuums. Cordless vacuums simply don’t do a good enough job to justify having one around. You’re basically leaving 40% of debris behind on whatever you’re trying to clean. For the sake of not having a cord. Yuck. That’s not my style at all. When I clean, I want the thing clean. Spent $150 on a cordless which I regret.I’ve tried cheaper corded vacuums and although the suction power is decent they all lack something which make them feel like a complete cleaning solution.I should have just foregone all those and bought a Miele right off the bat. Here’s why it is amazing and a 5/5 overall:- Suction power is amazing. 1200W motor so there you go. It doesn’t play around and it doesn’t sound obnoxious either.- The bag system is much preferred. I’m so over dumping debris in a garbage can and trying to dodge a cloud of dust. Just take the bag and throw it away. I don’t mind paying a little more over a lifetime of use and never having to worry about breathing in all the crap the vacuum just sucked up ever again.- Filtration system is genius. The air feels so clean after vacuuming there you would think you are in a different environment after.- The vacuum is simple yet I’m able to clean the whole house effectively with it. A simple swap of the tool head and I can reach all corners of the ceiling. Cobwebs, spider webs, dust, all gone. The wheels keep it maneuverable and allow it to swivel easily. It has a button to retract the cord so you don’t have to wind it up after like most vacuums in the $200 range. Not the longest cord ever but it’s fine and feels sturdy.- Once you are done with it, the vacuum slides into place to become one piece, and tucks into your closet, taking up minimal space. How considerate.Great buy and I’m very happy because my living space is fresh and clean!

Get this if you want to pass it onto your grandkids.

This thing is very nice. But for the price, I expect more.I used this for a small residential cleaning business I run, so I’ve put it through its paces for sure. I understand it’s not truly meant for that purpose, with certain design decisions making that quite obvious, but I had several people recommend Miele to me–thought I’d try the company out with one of their lower-mid-range entries (didn’t want to dive head first into a full grand for one quite yet, you understand) and see if it was going to knock my socks off.Overall, I am underwhelmed. It’s like buying designer. It’s well made, it’s durable, people like how it looks and feels, and the experience of using it is what I’d describe as higher-end, but the functionality could be improved.I’ll start with the positives, because there are actually more positives than negatives. Like I stated in the title, get this if you want a vacuum that will last you. Something that looks nice in your house, that gets the job done without much stress, etc.1. The thing is quality for sure. I legitimately don’t care about where a product is built at all, as long as it’s quality. Europe, China, Mexico, USA–I just don’t. What I care about is that it’s built well, and runs well. Ive used it on over 100 residential properties (many of which large ones) with no sweat. In some cases, I abused this vacuum. Zero issues with it running, breaking, failing, or even seemingly to come remotely close. And given how sturdy it still feels and sounds, I bet it could last another 10 years even in my hands.2. The retractable cord feature is amazing, and I don’t know how I’ve lived without it. On the other hand, my biggest concern with the vacuum overall is how long this retracting feature will last before it breaks and either trashes the vacuum, or causes me to have to order parts to repair it. Hasn’t hiccupped once yet, though, and I’ve been very tough on it. I will say, I wish the cord was about 6 foot longer–in operation, it just feels slightly too short every time I use it.3. This is a strange one… but it looks really nice. I’ve had clients ask me about it. It exudes “this is a really nice vacuum” energy, and I actually think that has helped my business in minor ways. Lol. That alone COULD justify the cost, considering my clientele, but not entirely. I’m focused on a few other factors, which is why it gets some hard negative marks.4. The sound gets high praise from me. When I’m in a client’s house with them present, it doesn’t feel like I’m disturbing them to any significant degree. From a business standpount, who truly cares, as they paid for service and know that vacuums are loud and will be involved in the process–but again, it contributes to the experience, which through a trickle effect, contributes to my pocket. That said, it’s still a vacuum.5. I like the power dial. Half the settings I don’t use, but I do like it.6. For how low-power the motor is overall, it produces some good results. Not astounding, but solid overall. I don’t frequently have to go over anything a second time, which allows me to spend less time on the job and produce a better outcome. Not saying there aren’t cases where I’m like “how did that not picked up?” but those cases are fewer and further between. Some notes on that in one of my major negatives, because this positive only applies to MOST of the attachments–there’s one glaring exception.7. Most of the attachments are well-made and do their job. From my experience with vacuums, it’s not hard to get right most of the time, but I give it props. I do however have two MASSIVE problems with them, one of which is more of a problem with the vacuum itself, and that’s where I’ll start…(Here are my gripes. There are two big ones)1. There was not much effort in providing an “attachment attachment” system onto the vacuum. It’s not great. It exists, at best. It’s inconvenient and inefficient at worst. It proves space for 4/6 of the attachments while in operation (three of which are attached to the vacuum, and one on the wand, so 5/6 if you’re using the extension, which I defintely don’t need all the time), and I cannot begin to express how annoying that is for me. There’s just always an extra attachment that is loose. The three that do stick onto the vacuum are incoveniently located right at the base of the hose. And if Im not using the rotating brush head or extension, they have nowhere to live. I either have to caddy them around, or leave it somewhere. This is overall my biggest gripe with the vacuum. Now, do most vacuums even feature a place to put them? Not too many–but for what the vacuum prices at, it absolutely should have a spot for every single attachment WHILE ROLLING AROUND, in operation. It’s actually the biggest reason I ended up buying a different one after putting this one through a run of about 4-5ish months. There’s a secondary reason, though.2. The turbo head’s size is ALMOST unacceptably small. It frequently ejects even small debris. It should not do this. If it were dog food, or otherwise, I’d understand. No. This will not only spit out debris the size of broken mechanical pencil lead, it will fling it with great velocity across the room. Small, tiny pieces of leaves. Tiny fly corpses. I’m serious. And yes, this is with the brush head cleaned of hair and other debris. Either the vacuum doesn’t have enough suction to pull these things in before they hit the spinning brush and get rail-gunned across the house, or the opening for debris in front of the brush is too small. I don’t know. And frankly, I don’t really care. These are things households run into frequently, and should be considered in the design. Some other minor negatives and implementation ideas–things I wouldn’t drop the rating for, but that I’ll include;1. Bags are expensive, but I knew that through my research. Still. They’re vacuum bags. Small ones at that. The bags are nice, but there’s no reason for them to be as nice when they’re disposable. Not to mention, the air filters don’t justify the cost either for what they actually are. Reloading them is an absolute breeze though, I’ll give them that.2. I have a love-hate relationship with the angled handle where the attachments clip on. I like it 75% of the time when in casual operation, rolling it back and forth across the floor. But it’s a pain in the ass when Im working around obstacles. I wish it could either straighten out or be removed while retaining the ability to actually use the attachments.3. It looks like it should have the ability to be a backpack vacuum. I knew it wasn’t when going into the purchase, but I think that would really be an excellent addition as an attachment to the rolling side. Ive genuinely thought about trying to lut an sttachment like that together. I don’t recall if their higher end options feature this, but if they don’t, it’s a missed opportunity. All in all, I would have really liked to give this vacuum a higher score. I still like the vacuum, and I use it in my own house, and I’ll be glad to have it as a backup for my business, as it’s something I might use on really large households when I have others helping me. But in my day-to-day, it had to take a permanent side-line, and anything that gets that treatment from me can’t get more than a 3 star. I have a Ridgid shop-vac that handles attachments better, has more power, has lasted years and years, and was legitimately like a fourth (maybe a fifth) the price. Would I use it in the same situations? No, but what the Miele gives me for spending that much more on it just ISN’T enough. And for me, that just caused it to fall below my expectations. Thanks for reading.-a dedicated vacuum user.

One of the Best Vacuums for Home with Hard Floors and Heavily Shedding Dog

This is definitely the best vacuum for hard floors that I’ve ever purchased. Since we put in LVP throughout most of our house, I found that the fabulous upright that we had (Riccar) just didn’t do as good a job on the hard floors as it did on carpeting, even with the separately purchased floor attachment. However, finding the right Miele canister vacuum for my needs and budget was very time-consuming. I found that it was very difficult to tell if the reviews on Amazon matched a specific model or not. The Miele website was not much better, especially when I tried to determine what attachments went with what model. I wanted to know how effective the turbo brush was and if it was included in the particular models I was considering. What ultimately saved the day was being able to go in person to an appliance store that sold Miele vacuums. Unfortunately, the closest store to me did not happen to have any of the vacuums in stock, but the salesperson was able to print out a comparison sheet of the Classic C1 Turbo Team Powerline (SBANO) and Compact C1 Turbo Team Powerline (SCAE0), both of which appeared to be the best options for hard floors. Since there was about a $100 difference between them, I wanted to see if the extra cost was worth it for the Compact C1. Both appeared to be made in Germany, something that many of the Amazon reviews argued was important. It turns out that their specifications are almost identical. The Compact has a “Stainless steel telescopic tube” and the Classic has a “Comfort compact telescopic tube,” but it’s hard to see the difference. They both have the same operating radius (29 feet) and the same cord length of 18 feet. They take different filter bags, but the Classic’s bad volume is 4.8 qts. vs 3.7 for the Compact. The only other difference I could tell was that the nominal power consumption for the Classic is 1000 W while the Compact’s is 1100 W. Since these differences seemed to favor the Classic, I decided to save $100 and purchase that. The Turbo brush was still a mystery, but both models offered that as well as a Parquet brush. I knew from the Riccar what a Parquet brush could do, and I figured that it would be at least adequate if the Turbo brush wasn’t any good. It turns out that the Turbo brush is one of the best features of the vacuum. It makes vacuuming hard floors easier and super fast. I still use the tube by itself for the edges, but rely on the Turbo brush, especially for large areas. As I mentioned in the review title, I have a heavily shedding dog, a Newfoundland, and his hair has yet to cause problems with the Turbo brush. The brush is pretty loud when set at the highest suction setting, and it will not work on my kitchen stress relief mats except on the lowest suction setting. I do a good job vacuuming our bathroom mat with the parquet attachment and the middle to low setting without the mat getting sucked up. One of the reviews mentioned their vacuum bag filled up very fast, but I’ve had the Miele Classic for almost three months and the bag has yet to fill up, even with my dog, In conclusion, you don’t have to fork out extra money to get a great hard floor vacuum in the Classic C1 Turbo Team PowerLine, and you’ll probably agree that it’s definitely worth how much you do spend.

Why have I waited so long???

I’ve been keeping house for many years and have always had vacuums that were name brands, but less expensive and were available at one of the big box stores. They all worked, but were heavy, cumbersome and loud. This spring after cleaning with ear plugs in , I decided ENOUGH!! I then researched my options and and went to a high end appliance store to check several out. I’m Totally happy with my Miele! It’s quiet, very powerful any any setting and very light weight ! My spouse couldn’t believe how excited and happy I was with a vacuum cleaner purchase!!!

Great suction on a well-engineered vacuum that could use slight usability improvements

First off, I’m a tough reviewer. In general, I don’t believe in 5 star reviews unless the product is really excellent at its function or an incredible value. If the product does what it says and costs a normal amount of money, that’s a 4 star review in my book. Background: I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, which is 50% hardwood, 25% tile and 25% medium pile carpet. I also have area carpets in the living spaces that are medium-low pile. I don’t have any pets, but my fiancee has long hair. I am getting a cat soon – I will update this review when I have tried out the vacuum on cat hair.EDIT: I’ve had the cat for 2 months now. Vacuum picks up cat hair on my couch and carpet pretty well. I don’t have to re-vacuum any areas as far as I can tell. When doing furniture, I have to clean the attachments fairly often, but that’s to be expected. No change to this review.Functions:Hardwood – FantasticThis thing has great suction. It cleans super easily and the parquet floorhead is effective.Carpet – GoodThe Turboteq carpet brush head cleans the carpets pretty well. There are multiple suction settings and the device recommends a lower suction setting for carpets. I have found I get better results going slower on a lower suction mode than turning up the suction. The suction is very powerful – it will pull up on area rugs. You have to maintain an acute angle with the handle and push forward and slightly down to move the brush head over carpet. Even then it takes a little bit of force. Moving it backwards doesn’t work nearly as well. In heavily soiled areas, you may need multiple passes – the runner carpet in the hallway needed 2 or 3 passes.Furniture – The attachments for furniture and upholstery work pretty well. Depending on your furniture you may have to turn the suction down past the furniture setting to the curtain setting. I have not tried to clean my curtains with this vacuum.Usability – Pretty goodThe main issues with usability are simply with canister vacuums. You have to move the canister, clean that area, and then move the canister again. If you’re using the floorheads at specific angles or direction, you may have to set up the canister so the hose is pointing in a useful direction because the hose is a little too short. It is surprising how often you need to consider how to optimize the orientation. The floor and brush heads have lots of rotation but it does not mitigate this problem much. The cord is very long so you can generally always maneuver the vac where you need it to be, but the hose could probably be longer. I will probably be checking in a few months for a longer compatible hose if this continues to annoy me.There are other small usability issues that I would say could be engineered away. The carpet brush head has two notches across it so you can cut hair off. However, over the middle of the brush head, there is a section that the notches are inaccessible because of the brush head bristles. Both notches are inaccessible in the same area from the bristles. It would have been easy to modify the bristle pattern so over the entirety of the brushhead there was at least one notch that work. However, I will say that the notch does work very well when you can use it. The holder for the attachments is also in a slightly inconvenient location as it slightly messes with the tubes.Otherwise the usability is great. Everything assembles easily and it’s easy to change the bags. It’s small and easy to storeQuality – GreatI haven’t had this vacuum long, but I’m a mechanical engineer who has designed consumer products. I can tell this uses quality materials. The brush head has plastic moving parts, but when inspecting them while cutting hair out, I can tell it is a glass-impregnated plastic for wear resistance. I was able to cut hairs away from it with a normal pocket knife (not a razor blade/hobby knife) without scratching it. I was being careful, but a cheap ABS part would have been scratched up easily. I am impressed by this product’s engineering and quality.Overall – 4 starsI have written mostly positive things, and the negative things are minor. However, I am only giving this 4 stars, because this ain’t cheap. $400 is a lot of money for a vacuum, and while it does the job, it doesn’t perform its functions unbelievably well. However, it definitely seems built to last. If it is truly as durable as it should be for this price, maybe it is deserving of 5 stars. But if I’m paying $400 for an appliance, I don’t want slight usability issues or need to make multiple passes on carpet. However, I’m not unhappy with my purchase at all. I recommend this for apartment dwellers who are willing to spend a little more time cleaning with a canister vac to get good cleaning results.

    Does the job very well

We’ve only had the vacuum for a week but it is doing a great job. Suction power is fantastic! Comes with an assortment of tools and I can’t figure out how to get the tool holder to remain on the vacuum. That’s ok, thought since I don’t always need them. Yes, so far I would purchase it again.

    Best Vacuum Ever!

After doing months of research on vacuums, I decided to get this Miele. Best decision I’ve made. Don’t waste your money on Sharks or Dyson’s. They aren’t made well, and won’t last. This vacuum is made very well, and it’s a recommended buy by almost every vacuum repair shop in my town. It’s low maintenance and easy to fix if you ever did need to, which usually on Miele you don’t.

    Great Product!

I hate vacuum cleaners. Noisy, bulky, and generally a chore to use. BUT NOT THIS VACUUM! This is a vacuum I can love using. Quiet, light, maneuverable, great suction, easy to use under furniture, works on tile floors as well as area rugs, and does a great job on our one wall-to-wall carpet. I can’t say enough about the Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team Bagged Canister Vacuum. I will never purchase a vacuum from any other company. Highly recommend this vacuum!!!

    Love my Miela!

The Miela C1 Classic Turbo came today. I couldn’t wait to try it out! Easy to assemble. Even though it came with instruction booklet I really didn’t need it; pretty self-explanatory. I did my research and gave this a lot of thought before purchasing because I was concerned about the low to medium pile carpet feature. Really wasn’t convinced that this would take care of our area rugs and low pile wall to wall. Was I surprised. It does a fantastic job on our rugs. Very pleased with this turbo head and it rolls nicely over the carpet. It has four small wheels that make it roll easily. I had a Sebo with the fancy powerhead and I can honestly say that this Miela, without a motorized powerhead, does just as good a job for our needs. We have 95 percent hardwood and the floor brush does a very good job of picking up debris. It also has little wheels the roll easily over the hardwood so don’t have to worry about scratching the floors. For this price point I think this Miela is a great buy. As far as noise goes, I would say it is not a noisy vacuum compared to others I have owned. The noise level does increase as the power level increases but not offensive. I don’t foresee the need to power this vac to full power because I think it just might pull up the hardwood:) This really has sucker power!! One rather unusual thing is when you first turn it on there will be a moment of hesitation before you actually hear the motor power on. This is made to do this so don’t think your vac is broken. I’m very happy with this vac and after only one use! German made, says it all!

    Good Vacuum, Light Weight

I have another Miele for Dog and Cat that was too heavy for me to handle and it sucked up my area rugs no matter the setting so bought this one since the roller head is suction, not motor driven. It still sucks up the area rugs on lowest setting. I thought since the head was not power driven that the suction on lowest setting would not be enough to suck up my rugs. Well, it does. I like the quality, the good filters and filter bags, the motor is superb, strong and quiet. But it sucks up the rugs. Also my complaint about all the Miele vacs are the attachments are bulky and won’t go under most furniture do the the design, even the handle to hose when used is curved so it would go under things. This also can’t be stored in an upright position with the attachment on it like most vacs. It has a clip on the back bottom of the machine that the attachment with hose attached slips into but that means the vac as to stay flat, not set upright and it becomes difficult to store. To store you have to remove the tube and attachment to sit it up. The floor or carpet attachment won’t sit upright on it’s own either. When vacuuming you either have to set it in this clip or lay it on the floor. It won’t stand up on it’s own due to the curved design of the attachments and hose. Very odd. It is as if who designs Miele vacs never used them to clean house or they would have made changes. I still love this one for the lightweight and good motor and filters. Great on fine cat litter dust.

Affordable yet very powerful vacuum for the home; better than non-corded vacuums

Price: 4/5Build Quality: 4/5Suction: 4/5Ease of Use: 4/5Emptying Can: 4/5Cost of Use: 3/5Overall this product is very good. I have been using Dyson non-corded vacuums for the last 10 years but decided to go with a corded bag vacuum. I got tired of switching out the batteries for the Dyson vacuums as it has become very costly (and also bad for the environment). I wanted something that would keep it suction power longer. This is my first bag vacuum, but I am quite surprised at how long each bag lasts if you have a medium sized condo.I don’t care too much for the color, but other than that, I am pleased overall with the product. It has all of the attachments you need to clean around your home. The only downside that this vacuum has versus a non-corded vacuum is that it takes more time to set up. However, once you get used to it, it won’t be a problem.I would highly recommend.

    Worth it!

I needed to replace our vacuum and was surprised that the usual brands I considered good performed terribly. I decided to follow the reviews on this vacuum and I am so glad. It works great!

    Great, but…

Great vacuum, light, quiet and powerful. However after a year the Turbo Brush Floorhead stopped working. I took it apart and cleaned everything but no luck. Hard to clean a carpet without it.

    Miele Classic C1 Turbo

We received this vacuum cleaner last week, and have only used it a few times, but so far we are very pleased. We live in an apartment We need a vac which is light, easy to maneuver, with good but controllable suction. This Miele product fills all three requirements. It is easy to move around, and has little problem transitioning from bare floor to carpet (or visa versa). The force of the suction can be controlled by a “bypass valve” on the wand which varies suction from hard (valve closed) to moderate (valve full open). This is important to us, because some of our carpets are rather delicate orientals. Two things very specific to this model (C1 Turbo). We chose it because it includes the “Turbo” head. This head was recommended by several reviews of the Miele canister vacs, and would have cost an additional $100 (!) if we had bought a model which did not include it. Our experience with it so far is positive. If you have rugs as well as bare floor to clean, I strongly suggest looking at this model.Second, several reviewers commented on the “short” power cord – 20 feet. Well, Miele is a German firm, and most Germans live in apartments or small houses. In our American apartment, a 20 foot cord is plenty. In a house with large rooms, you might need to dedicate an extension cord to your Miele.I guess I should mention one negative. At least one reviewer complained that the vac tends to tip over. Yes; it sits on three wheels, with the hose over the single front wheel. Pulling the vac from the side can pull the unit onto the lower rim of the side. I think this is something that will be easy to control. You mileage may vary.

    You’ll love it

Do not hesitate to buy this vacuum! Best suction EVER! I had a Dyson and it didn’t come close to this one. The brush head is fantastic for hardwood and area rugs. The fibers in the rug stand back up and it pulls dirt from deep in the fibers. Gets easily into small places like between spindles. Pulls animal fur from under trim without needing to switch attachment. It’s quiet, lightweight, easy to maneuver, and best suction of any I’ve ever used! You will not regret this purchase.

The Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum Cleaner is one fantastic vacuum.

Our old canister vacuum bit the dust. I researched for the best replacement and decided to buy the Miele Classic C1 Turbo canister vacuum. It weighed about half of what our old vacuum did. It tracks well. When you pull on it, it follows right behind you. I can’t say that about our old one. The suction is super. We have hardwood floors throughout of home. The vacuum picks up cat hair and dust like it was nothing. I have carried it up the steps to our second floor and it was easy. The attachments are easy to connect and disconnect. This is one impressive vacuum.

    Easier to use.

Wife was having a hard time using her old Dyson. It was exhausting to use and constantly needing me to make the suction change between wand and head. Always used one like this one, personally. Wife is very happy with this one. Great suction that is adjustable. Light weight. She does not have to work as hard to use it. Allows her to vacuum places that she could not get into with Dyson. Thus far it has been an excellent machine. Appears to be engineered and built well.

    Short cord, great suction.

So I wondered if the short cord people talked about would bother me, since the company says the length of the cord and the hose make it so much longer… well let me say that the cord is WAY TOO SHORT. As you can see in my photo, it doesn’t allow me to go across my kitchen floor, which is not very big, and it can’t reach all the way up my staircase. As described, the head is definitely not made for shaggy carpets. The roller bar gets bogged down in the higher pile and I actually have to use 2 hands to push it forward. When you lift the head up the motor starts to rev back up to speed, clearly telling me it’s been bogged down in the higher pile. So if you think it will work on your shaggy carpet, you will be disappointed. I actually plan to use this at another location where there is only low pile carpets. Despite these shortcomings, this vacuum is amazing at sucking up debris, and it maneuvers so easily, and it’s fabulous on low pile carpet. The tail end that stores the unused head will definitely make doing wood stairs difficult, because I’ll need to remove it to stand it up, so it won’t roll off the stairs. So… overall…. I think if you live in a small place, like a small apartment, this cord will work for you. Personally I think I will add a short extension cord to the vacuum because I do love the amazing performance and durability the Miele has.

Great lightweight vacuum with amazing suction

So far I love this vacuum. Had an upright Dyson for years which I disliked and it had gradually lost most of its suction. I missed having the maneuverability of the canister and reaching under furniture and whatnot. I was hesitant about using bags again but they hold quite a lot and I don’t have a constant dog smell in vacuum so definitely a bonus. The suction is incredibly strong and I love the feature of reducing it for carpets because it does indeed suck them up! My only dislike so far is that the floor brush is heavier than the handle part and it makes a strange balance. My arms hurt vacuuming the first couple times! I saw a couple comments in other reviews about the cord length being short but I don’t find this to be problematic at all. Highly recommend this vacuum, loved that it was not $800!

    Quiet and powerful

This is the first Miele product I have purchased. I love this vacuum! It is very quiet compared to my old upright which just “screamed” when in use. The suction is very strong and easily adjustable. I love how lightweight the main unit is and how easy it is to adjust the telescopic handle. I can get under beds, the couch, and other pieces of furniture without having to add additional hose pieces or lift the furniture up! My husband is very pleased with the unit as well. He is actually able to vacuum the ceiling vent in the bathroom without a struggle. Wonderful product!

    First grown-up vacuum

Why is it that if you want a good vacuum in America, you have to buy one made by a foreign company? I don’t know (I do know), but I do know that Miele is the way to go for vacuums regardless of where you live. The suction power is incredible and, even without the power head attachment, really deep cleans carpets. I just wish I’d been able to afford this one first, instead of all of the useless $100 and $200 vacuums we’ve lost along the way.Perfect for pet hair – we have a border collie and a long haired cat, and plenty of short-haired pets. The only thing that’s come close to the ability to get pet hair out of the carpet like this thing, is carpet scrubbing steam cleaners – and who wants to break that out each week?Perfect for stairs – our stairs have been a wreck for ages, because our uprights could never provide anything close to a good cleaning solution for stairs. The suction power, long hose, secure attachment locks, and especially the low overall weight of this unit make cleaning stairs easy.

Wanted to love it, but don’t.

I wanted to love this vacuum. It does have a strong motor and good suction that is better than my Dyson. BUT, it’s super loud when it’s on full suction, the location of accessories is awkward, and the brush doesn’t fully stop rotating for rug fringe or other light settings. Ended up returning, sigh.

    I love this vacuum!

I wanted a Miele for so long and kept putting off buying one. After my old Mighty Mite died I decided to just go for it and bought this one. I have never loved a vacuum before, but I love this one. It’s really lightweight and easy to carry around- it’s easy to change the attachments without having to bend over and I love that it has a retractable cord. My house is mostly hardwood with some low pile area rugs and it does a great job on both surfaces.

    Its a vacuum

As all my floors are wooden/tile and a few area rugs I chose a canister over my old shark. I liked that my old shark had a dust cloth attachment with the hard floor attachment but could not find a good vacuum with that. That being said I was getting discouraged with the bagless vacs due to their ability to scatter dust when emptying, and their inability to carry parts beyond 3 years. My last cleaner prior to the 6 year old Shark was a Kirby, and while it was a pain to do hardwood floors, it was simple easy to get fixed (only 3 times due to human error) and it lasted 23 years. I wanted a vacuum that will, hopefully from the reviews, last longer than 6 years and that can get fixed by local vacuum store. I have used this 3 times and so far it works great, on board attachments make getting the mouldings and windowsills dusted quickly; it fits ALL the way under my sofa and the prior one did not. The biggest downfall is the cord is way to short and I must maneuver its locating to do my entire kitchen, living room, dining room, hallways, etc and we have an open floor plan. It is light, easy to store. The rug attachment with the beater brush is fair, however I have to put the suction level on quite low or the beater bar stops moving due to too much suction. Hopefully in [6] months I will let you know if there is less dust in my home and the cleaner stays in excellent working condition

    Engineering Flaw

Our air-powered brush stopped turning, YouTubed ST305 diassembly and I found out that there’s a flaw that requires you to take it apart and if you don’t you can burn out / melt the side bearings with hair getting in there EVEN IF you clean the brush head everytime with a knife. Bad design. Or maybe it’s normal.Clearly well built, works decently, high priced, bags… you can try to skimp but eh. Iono. Used for 2.5 years and is very powerful. Just downside is it can’t really do thick carpet that well, have to pull back only, can’t push forward with the brush head since it isn’t truly motor powered – only powered by air moving through a … think water/windmill style front.Expensive but seems good in the ways you’d expect it to be performance. Removed 2 star for poor maintenance/design in what I mentioned.

    Does not feel solid

I bought this to replace a 12-year-old Kenmore that had developed a bad cord. I will be surprised if this thing lasts 2 years. It feels cheap. The cord is very short. It’s probably fine for an apartment, but it’s much too short for an American house. Guess I’ll need a good 10A extension cord.

    Lightweight and super high quality

This was a replacement for an old Sears vacuum. We wanted something that didn’t weigh much and is capable of doing a good job. Compared to others on the market this fit that bill. Most of Miele stuff is expensive, this item was not. Probably weighs half of what the sears model does so it’s easy to pull it or carry around and use on stairs. The hose and attachments click together or come apart easily. Ceiling vents are easy to reach even if you’re not a tall person. The hose is lightweight but very strong. The suction power is adjustable and on high it is very powerful. The cord retraction is super. The on/off switch is on the canister. Because of its smaller size the attachments couldn’t be stored inside the canister. Instead the attachments mount on a rack which is attached to the hose near the base which at first I thought was weird, but it turns out that is actually convenient. The rug attachment is simple and runs on suction power from the vacuum as opposed to having it’s own motor. It is superb on carpet. The Miele bags are thick, adequate size and come with replacement filters should you need them. This vacuum is a testament to German engineering.

Gosh it’s hard to Buy a $1500 Miele for a friend and try out a $400 one on my own

I love this company. Their products are beautiful, well constructed and German…they just make sense.I’m going to be honest here. If you look at the Miele line, all of the first models are suction only. Meaning…there’s no electrical component engaging the telescopic wand or turbo brush. It’s all suction. You need to pay close attention and use a considerable effort keeping the suction at the exact level you need. You can turn a nob, release some in a switch near the handle, or park it for a bit as you get ready to get your octopus suction ready for the next surface. It’s all good if you are young…living in a condo with minimal square footage…and want the German approach to cleaning. You want an electrically driven brush head…period. Unless you live in a marble palace. It’s worth the extra $200-300, no matter what line you take on. The suction is the same. You just want and need some help. If you have crossed over the $400 mark, what’s another $350 or so…get what you want and need. Otherwise, get a mega Kenmore and budget 2-3 in the lifetime of a properly cared-for Miele.I made the mistake and went by budget. Got to the corporate website and look at what you want and need. The filters can be installed and purchased for any model. Get an electric brush and parquet shovel head…and the hand brush for sure. Look at the cost of these things individually. It just makes sense. The bags and filters are superb. Cloth bags. I feel like I’m back in the day. When things were built to last!

    Awesome Vacuum!

We have used Miele products for 12+ years and love the results! This is the first time I have purchased this model and it is perfect for a household. Prior to this we used them for residential and vacation rental cleaning business. This is the perfect vacuum for around the house and is very easy to move around (we go from upstairs to downstairs with no difficulty), get under furniture, go from carpet to hard floors and back, and get into the corners of things. It is easy to change the attachments and the improvements to the handle and extension are amazing!Like others have stated, the cord is not anything special in length, but for around your personal house, it is simple enough to change to a different outlet. For the quality of this vacuum, the shorter cord length is not much of a compromise. The electrical of these vacuums also hold up well from past experience and the cord can handle a lot of twists and turns. The color is also super fun! We call our vacuum “Brainy” like Brainy smurf because it is blue. :)Doesn’t disappoint and highly recommend!

    Best Canister Vacuum for price

I have owned 3 Miele vacuums. One I had for 12 years and passed down to a friend ( It was still in working order) when I upgraded to the next model. We have another home and now need another vacuum. I Love that they are not heavy and the canister follows easily and pivots effortlessly. If you haven’t tried a canister vac , you should. It is about 20 lbs so no problem to carry up the staircase. The on/off controls are on the body which makes the handle lighter.Miele is top of the line quality and this is the least expensive model. It works very well for me! The prices go up to 1200.00 so it’s up to you what you spend but this little workhorse can handle a lot. For @ 400.00 I got a package that included the vacuum and “on board” furniture and crevice tools hidden in the body. A parquet floor wide head and a smaller wood floor or area rug head. Bonus* they sent over 15 extra vacuum bags and a HEPA filter! The vacuum was protected with the bags so there was no packaging waste. I love that it matches my new kitchen colors!

    Smaller than expected

I am a dedicated Miele lover. I love the absolute quality of the machines, the reliability – just everything about them. However, my Classic C1 Turbo is much smaller than I expected. It is lightweight, and has terrific suction, but is hard to push across my rugs and carpet. I wish I would have gone to a dealer and seen the vacuums in person so I could make a more informed buying decision. Instead, I opted for a quick delivery from Amazon – because I needed a vacuum FAST. I will keep the Classic C1 Turbo, but will regret the small size.

    Great vacuum for small areas

Believe the reccomend vacuum per living space recommendations. I bought the vacuum thinking it would be fine for an 1800 sq ft house that is mostly carpeted. It works great but unfortunately I have to change the bag every time I vacuum the house. I have two “non shedding” small dogs, two shedding women (hair) and old carpet old carpet which seems to be too much. This is not a complaint on the vacuum, just an opinion on what it can handle. I would definitely recommend buying a unit with a powered beater bar (brush) for any size carpeted area.

    – bag filled in less than 2 months

We are a retired couple, no pets, little foot traffic. The original bag was in place when it arrived. After vacuuming our small, one story home every other week for less than 2 months, I noticed the red light was on. I checked the bag compartment and saw bag was indeed full with dust around the outside of white seal and fine light layer of dust in compartment. The seal itself seemed to be “ floppy”. I turned vacuum on and saw when the bag expanded the floppiess went away slightly but a very tight seal did not seem to be in place. I also noticed a new “odor” before I saw the red light. I am ordering new bags to see what happens. Otherwise happy with vacuum, but purchased, as everyone does, for the seal. That is priority #1.

    Miele Vacuum

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to the wand having 3 dents when I received it. I didn’t send it back because it’s a pain to send things back from where I am but I did expect better from this brand. I don’t mind paying a fair amount for a good product but I was definitely disappointed when I opened it all up and seen damage ? The vacuum works fine I’ve already vacuumed the house twice ? but it’s not very nice to see my brand new expensive vacuum dented.

Needed a new vacuum and I was set on getting a canister unit instead of another stick or upright model. I love this thing. First time using it resulted in clear mop water – A first for my house!

I have 50% hardwoods, 25% linoleum, and 25% carpet in my house. Been using a Dyson Ball for 4 years. It was not bad. Super easy to transition from hard surface to carpet. But, when I followed up with mopping, I always got really dirty mop water. I assumed that’s why you mop! Lost the Dyson for personal reasons, so had to get a new vacuum. At $299 I thought I would give this thing a shot, but was slightly worried about the carpet performance, and having to switch heads. Neither is an issue. I store whichever head I am not using in the “park” slot. It takes about 8 seconds to swap them. Love how I can turn the suction up or down. That is a feature which will spoil me; don’t think I can go back to NOT having it. Mobility is great, no issues whatsoever. The cord is slightly short, but truly not an issue. If it starts to bug me I will buy a 10 foot extension and keep it coiled on the vacuum. Three whole house cleanings (floors, walls, cabinets… everything) and the bag full indicator is still not showing. I don’t think bags are going to be a concern.More on the turbo carpet head: I was worried that the whole “suction power to make it spin” feature was marketing bull, but it’s not. That thing is awesome. You will tinker with the settings a little as you dial in what level you need for your carpet style, but it works great. The entire learning curve takes about a minute, maybe two. I even had to turn the suction power down slightly, as it will lift the carpet up from the floor at the highest setting! I’m not talking about an area rug – actual installed carpet over padding.PROs:Cost- at $299 this is a bargainPerformance- clean mop water!Utility- I can get under my entire couch all the way to the wall (no furniture moving)Quite- I actually wore earplugs with the Dyson (overkill, but it was loud). This thing is super quite in comparisonOn board storage of tools- means you won’t lose them, or lose time using themVersatility- turning suction up or down on the fly is amazingCONS:Bags- better for cleanliness, but you will need to keep sparesCord- longer is better, but I’m good with itIt’s just a vacuum, but I really love this thing. I’m a very firm believer of having the right tool for the job. For me, this is the right tool.

Suction, filtration, maneuverability and lightweight, it’s the bed vacuum I ever had.

There’s nothing I dislike about this vacuum. I have always had a canister vacuum. When mine broke, I really wanted a cordless vacuum but none of them had the power I wanted. I also found emptying the cup nasty. This vacuum is very light and a breeze to pull along. The handle is very light and easy on my wrist. I pull this vacuum out every day, plug it in and get a fabulously clean floor, with not much hassle at all, because it is very lightweight. Before buying this vacuum I bought a top of the line cordless, with nothing but headaches. I’ll keep my tradition of a canister, knowing my home is really clean. I don’t even mind using this vacuum on my stairs because it’s so light. I call it my blue buddy. I’m very happy with this vacuum, best vacuum I’ve ever owned.

Inefficient for household with one dog

I love the weight, maneurverability and suction of this vacuum. However, everytime I clean house, I have to cut the pet hair out of the beater of the floor head to pull the hair out. I did not buy the cat/dog model because it was over $200 more and my Kenmore cannister did not have this problem 70% of our flooring is hardwood and the remainder area rugs. I contacted Miele and there solution was to buy a special attachment. I don’t want to use a hand attachment to clean my area rugs.
