Over time this approach left a dull film layer on top of our hardwood floors
I purchased it to clean and buff hardwood floors. Contrary to advertisements about hardwood floor cleaners, we found the spray and wipe approach was woefully insufficient. Over time this approach left a dull film layer on top of our hardwood floors. To prevent this we had to spray the cleaner, work the dirt loose, then use a micro fiber cloth the wipe up the cleaner/dirt before it dried (a back breaking process). With the Oreck Orbiter, all we do is spray and buff with their white terry cloth pad. This process removes the cleaner/dirt in one step and leaves the floors looking fantastic! Operating the orbiter is a breeze. The key to success is using clean terry cloth pads. We use the orbiter for hardwood floors, but it can be used for many other surfaces/purposes buy using different pads, brushes, and buffers. See:http://www.oreck.com/orbiter-ultra-multi-purpose-floor-machine/56.html?cgid=floor-machines&start=5 . I definitely recommend the product.

Lightweight, weak
It needs more weight to be effective at sanding, polishing. Stopped working after a year.

Exceptional!
After scrubbing a small portion of tile and grout in the kitchen and realizing how bad it really was, I researched Oreck’s machines. We decided to rent before purchasing and have just used the machine on all of the tile in the house – a BIG job! Not only is the grout back to the original color, but the tile had darkened over the years as well, but looks really good now. I’m very impressed with this machine, especially at Amazon’s price. They are a couple of hundred and upwards more in our community, so we bit the bullet and ordered it from Amazon. I’m not planning to use the machine for weekly upkeep as that would be a bit much, but probably a few times a year so that the tile never grays down and the grout won’t shock me with the gunk and grunge again.

Did not clean the grout!
I bought the Oreck Orbiter to clean some old grout pen out of tile grout. It didn’t do the job. Now I’m left with patchy grout. I used the orange brush and the blue brush. The blue brush seemed to work better. It also stripped the sealer off of the tile and grout so now we have to reseal it. I’m not sure if you can see it in the picture. It left patchy spots all over.

Aunt Bonnie’s had BEST PRICE & delivered AHEAD OF SCHEDULE !!
Purchased Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor cleaner from Aunt Bonnie’s Annex at height of Christmas shipping on 12/19. Unit arrived 12/22 ahead of schedule (reg shipping/free delivery) and in great shape. At time of purchase Aunt Bonnie’s had best price, no tax, free shipping. Oreck products are great – slightly pricey, but typically worth it, long lasting, few problems. Oreck’s one of the more affordable residential use machines – easy to operate, not overly heavy but weighted enough to lend to efficient scrubbing action. Other reviews are more detailed about machine’s cleaning action. Bought unit primarily for serious TILE & GROUT cleaning and mild hardwood buffing. Consider buying extra tile scrubber (orange bristle) if cleaning large area. This unit’s slightly more than the other residential Oreck floor scrubber but has better warranty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AUNT BONNIE’S ANNEX.

Supposed to be “NEW” ?????…
I ordered this Oreck Orbiter Ultra Floor Machine on Amazon after researching their “authorized dealer” status with them, and they assured me that indeed they were an authorized dealer. While the price was less than other “dealers,” the item was advertised as “NEW.”The machine arrived in a shipping box. Inside, the machine was not wrapped or packaged in Oreck materials. It was simply laying in the shipping box with some styrofoam at the top and bottom. The cord was in a big loop around the handle with a twistie. The plastic bottom disc was loose in the box as were the manual and warranty card. Nothing was in what would be expected of original, manufacturer’s packaging. The items was definitely what a retailer would sell as “OUT OF CARTON” and I suspected that it was a prior return and/or refurbished. An older mailing label on the box indicated that an appliance company (which research revealed may have bought out Oreck’s Factory Outlet Division) had sent the machine to Amazon, who in turn, shipped it on to me. Very frustrating. While everyone is different, I was not paying this price for an out of carton item, which reasonably raised my suspicions that it has been refurbished and/or used. The only relief came with Amazon’s willingness to have UPS pick up the machine and the bonnet/kit accessories, which were in a separate box. Then came more frustration and lengthy phone calls to Amazon, as they charged me a “return shipping fee.” After protracted phone calls, this is now half resolved. My recommendation would be to buy the machine elsewhere, i.e, in an Oreck store, so that you can see what you are getting.

Performed just as I had hoped.
What is there to say? It’s an Oreck orbital that has been around longer than I have. It is well made and powerful and will outlive all of us. Does just what it is supposed to with no drama.

Simple and Powerful
What a great invention! This unit is user friendly. 1) Put brush on bottom and, 2) Turn on power. The unit has a decent amount of weight to it, so it can really scrub an area well. It does goof at getting the dirt off of a gym floor. You can buy soft to hard bristle attachment depending on the surface you wish to scrub. Note, this unit does NOT come with a brush, so make sure you purchase one when you guy the unit. The green bristle attachment is medium bristle strength and a good one to get to start.

Outstanding!
Just get one! Cleaning isn’t exactly my favorite thing to do but I am addicted to this machine! I can’t believe how it brought back the original color of my tile AND grout so quickly and effortlessly. It’s a heavy machine but is so easy to use. I can run it with one hand. I haven’t tried it on my carpet yet but I expect to be equally impressed. It’s a bit more expensive than other floor machines on the market, but trust me when I say it’s worth it! I used a lesser machine for years and upgraded to the Oreck when it died. I can’t believe how much dirt that old machine left behind.

Get off your hands and knees.
Love the orbiter. After reading a lot of reviews, I made the investment and am so glad I did. We have light tile throughout most of the house along with 4 furry friends. It was a daily job to vacuum/steam mop to keep the floors looking decent. This machine was amazing. It did what so many other reviewers said – cleaned extremely well, made grout look white again, and all without bending over and scrubbing. I am very pleased with this machine and accessories. I started with the black brush, and realized I needed to use the orange brush because of heavy staining. It did a great job without being too hard on the porcelain tile.

Just got to use it this weekend. We have almost all tile flooring in our house and the grout had really become discolored over time. I thought I would have to replace it. I no longer see the need. My grout is SOOO clean and nice now. It is still lots of work to get so much grout clean, but, I got it much cleaner than I have been able to by hand and in only a few hours verses an entire weekend. This is a GREAT machine. I love it!

Using the cleaner and following the directions the tile now look like the day we had it installed
Our main floor except the bedrooms is all tile and the machine did an outstanding job on the tiles. They are somewhat sculptured and dirt would build up in the cracks. Using the cleaner and following the directions the tile now look like the day we had it installed. We did not use the pad that came with the package, but used damp paper towels after running the machine and allowing it to sit for the recommended time. The machine is 1/2 hp, and the local store only had 3/8 hp. We just believed horsepower is a better thing. We are very satisfied.

This is our before and after. We have two golden doodles so they track in dirt constantly. It’s a tile floor and the first time I washed it I was on my hands and knees with a scrub brush and couldn’t get it this clean. This product is a lifesaver.

Works great
I use it every 6 months to do my floors. I live in military housing and we have the best floors out of all our friends. My wife gets complements every time someone comes to our home. she takes the credit even though it is the hard work of the Oreck and myself. just the right size and weight I let my 4 year old son run it when he was 2 and he can run it even better today. I have had it about a year and a half or more and even used it to clean the drive way…. Great

Over the top
This has too be one of the best machines I have purchased for doing floors. It looks great and performs even better. I tried it out on an auditorium floor. Stripped the whole thing with this little machine. It did a beautiful job to say the least. I don’t recommend doing jobs this size with a small machine but I have to say this little guy out performed two 17″ high speed polishing machines. Oreck has always been the best and now I am sure of it. I will attach before and after pictures as soon as I can. Excellent buy.

Worth Every Penny!
Used to apply Osmo hard wax oil finish. Applied 2 coats of finish with the brush as stated in the application instructions. While second coat was still wet I used the Orick with a White 3M super polish pad then wiped dry with a t shirt. The addition of the Orick step left a satin finish that is rock hard! Beautiful results. Since this is a brand new floor I can’t rate its cleaning ability. It is heavy enough to get the job done but light enough that I can lift with one hand.

works great, but wobbles when in use
This floor buffer works great. keep some buffing liquids on the floor and then let the machine do the work. Although it is somewhat heavy, it still wobbles when in use. however, that is not a problem for getting the floor buffed.

Order your brushes and pads when you order the Orbiter!
I would rate my Orbiter a 5-Star product, except I haven’t had the chance to use it yet.I borrowed my friend’s Orbiter and instantly fell in love with it. It did a better job on my floors than I’ve ever done before.Mine, however, was shipped to me without the stiff-bristle brush or orbiter pad and it seems I have to order those separately.I feel like the order page [might] have made this more clear at checkout than they did. This product is marketed by Amazon, but it’s distributed by TTI Floor Care North America.Disappointed

Well worth it!!!
What a great little machine! Quiet and easy to maneuver. Using it with the brush and the buffing pad on porcelain tile. I would recommend this to any one that has a large amount of tile. We currently have 2400 sq ft. of tile, now clean! Decided to purchase this machine rather than paying the outrageous quote I received by a professional cleaning service. It was well worth the money for the machine and the time to do it myself. (used oxiclean as the cleaner, worked well in the grout)

Makes the floor shine.
Makes a wood floor shine; however, you need to get Lundmark Wax LUN-3201G01-2 (1 gallon) All Floor Wax. Put about 5-6 coats of this on and then buff with Oreck Orbiter Polyester Polishing Pad 1 Only (White) # 437-051. Some people say use the lambs wool pad, but you can use this after the above pad. Works well, I will post pics later.

Can’t live without a buffer
I bought one of these 17 years ago that still worked even though it looked nasty and the cord was damaged from me running over it with the buffer, so I had a few extra bucks and it was on sale for $100 off and I got a new one. Works GREAT on hardwood and tile floors.

Works well, but DOES NOT LAST!!!
This product was definitely ‘over-advertised’ as being a quasi-professional unit. It lasted less than a year, and then the motor burned out on it. I have porcelain floors in my house, so I purchased all of the Oreck chems, attachments, pads as well as this unit. My wife is an adamant instruction book reader and follows directions to the “T”. She was very happy with the unit when it was working, but by month 8, the unit began to hesitate, then one day completely ‘smoked’. We have not turned it back on since. Too dangerous.Because of my locale, the closest service center was a 4 hour drive to in Corpus-Christi, Texas. Not convenient or cheap to drive that far to fix a unit that should have lasted more than 8 months. I will just ‘eat’ the cost of the unit and never purchase Oreck products again. For smaller jobs, I guess it would have lasted longer, but it is DEFINITELY NOT a professional grade unit.

Great Machine for cleaning light color tile but not the colored tiles!
It is absolutely a very good machine to clean the floor, honestly I used it only on a small area in my kitchen floor, but it made the floor porcelain tile faded, it looks it doesn’t work on the porcelain or ceramic especially the colored ones.

I knew that there had to be something better. And the Oreck Orbiter was my answer
After cleaning my floor on my hands and knees several times, I knew that there had to be something better. And the Oreck Orbiter was my answer. Much faster and better quality shine from this machine, I am glad I bought this to make cleaning the floor a breeze instead of a chore. I recommend the Hardwood floor value kit which has two buffing pads and a spray floor cleaner, that Obiter doesn’t come with.

The orbital action is nice and easy to control versus a spinning floor polisher
The orbital action is nice and easy to control versus a spinning floor polisher, so much less likely to damage the floor base. Obviously smaller than a 16″ model, but also way easier to move from place to place, and it probably still scrubs a 3 car garage floor just as quick as a larger floor scrubber, since it’s easier to set up and use. Very happy with my purchase. Also used it to scrub and polish travertine and tile floors.

need to know Marble floors! Oreck Orbiter
The company has out of date instructions on how to clean marble floors. Recommending you the consumer to buy multiple pads and to buy a “michangelo restoring cream”. The problem with Orecks recommendation of said cream is that you can only purchase it if you live in Canada. so apparently I have to be Canadian to be able to follow their instruction manual on how to polish a marble floor. I have contacted Oreck and their response was useless they could not help me at all or recommend anything just more pads on their website. so the machine has been sitting in my garage for about the past year unused since I only have marble floors. at the end of the day I feel like I threw away the $$ I spent on this product. I don’t usually review products but just had to warn other novice buyers they are quick to take your money but offer little no help.

A Gliding floor scrubber that does the job!
I just scrubbed my kitchen tile floor which resembles a cobble stone street with this new oreck floor scrubber. In the twelve years I have had this tile floor, I have steamed cleaned, hand scrubbed with wooden brushes and the hours spent on it have been endless with no positive results. After searching and reviewing for floor scrubbers, I decided on this one for quality, price, and reviews. I can kick myself for not buying this sooner. In a matter of an hour and a half, my kitchen tile floor is cleaner than clean. I used the spray bottle of Simple Green Stone Cleaner to make this miracle happen. The orbiter glided back and forth as I then mopped up the excess residue. This machine is worth every penny. I am 70 years old with shoulder and arm restriction and this floor machine was as smooth as ice gliding over my floor. I am thrilled with my purchase and happy I saved so much money in doing it myself and not hiring a floor service.

Best thing to really clean natural stone floors
Just tried this machine and I LOVE it. It cleans my natural stone floors better than anything I’ve tried except scrubbing like crazy on my hands and knees. The gal at the Oreck store explained what to do. Get two spray bottles – one with water, one with water and a floor cleaner dilution. Spray with the cleaner solution, go over with the Orbiter (I used a blue brush), spray with water, go over with a pad on th orbiter. The pad picks up all the dirty water. It’s great. I would love it if the thing had a vacuum to vacuum up the water and do it all in one step but I can’t complain. You can do light “mopping” by spraying with a highly diluted soap solution and just using the pad but to really clean grout and stone, use the brush and two steps.I am ordering more pads as, depending on the size of the area you want to clean, they absorb so much dirty water you need to switch them out frequently.

Fantastic on wood floors.
It takes a lot to impress me but this Oreck floor machine was absolutely fantastic. We have just moved into a newly constructed home and the wood floors had construction dust down in the crevices and smeared glue from putting the wood down. I had tried several cleaners to try to get this up but nothing would remove the glue completely and not without a lot of elbow grease. I received my Oreck yesterday and decided to see how it would work in the back hallway. I was amazed. The floors looked fantastic. I used the wood floor cleaner from Oreck and the white soft pad. The floors looked so good I did the whole house. Got up every bit of glue on the floors. It’s easy to use. It glides across the floor with little effort and doesn’t hurt my shoulder as when I use the bona cleaner. Worth every penny. I am going over to my house today, that is for sale, and do the floors there.

Just what I was looking for to keep our floors looking great
This buffer works great on our floors. It’s quiet, easy to maneuver, and the random orbit keeps it from making swirl patterns. I was going to get a pressure washer to clean our sidewalks outside, but bought an orange bristle brush to attach to this machine. It did a great job on that too, with just a little dishwashing soap in water as the cleaning agent. Used it to strip slate floors, too, with a bit of kitchen scrubbing powder and water from a spray bottle. Made them beautiful again, and after a couple of passes with a mop, the floor was ready to re-seal. Used a cloth bonnet with Bona for wood floors (modern gloss finish) and it made them sparkle. Glad I got one. Went with this one over the commercial for the 10 year warranty with annual tuneups included rather than a 1 year on the commercial. Given the torque requirements, I’m not sure what the extra 1/4 hp would be useful for anyway.

I LOVE this thing
I LOVE this thing. The tile brush works like a dream and my tile and grout have new life after using it. Easy to use and manipulate across the floor. Love the long power cord. Easy to change out attachments. Highly recommend! It’s even light and versatile enough to lift and turn sideways to clean walls (which I discovered after buying a house formerly inhabited by hoarders and desperately needed something (besides a bucket and scrub brush) to clean the gunk off the walls behind a filthy stove before we painted them.In my area, professional cleaners charge $1.25-$2.50 per sq foot to clean tile, so it would have cost me hundreds, maybe even over $1k to have it done, making this thing more than pay for itself after one use.The only thing I don’t like about it is that it doesn’t get corners very well, but it does great at getting right up to the egde of the wall and the floor, so cornering is an inconvenience, but overall, I wouldn’t trade this machine for anything else.

Love it! No more bending down and sore back!
When I was done with some areas of my ceramic tile floor, I could clearly see the difference. It has never been so clean, and it is really much fun todo. I got tired of scrubbing or cleaning the tile floor with swimmers or steam cleaners. They never get it clean and you always have to push down real hard. I’m 6’2″ tall and it hurts my back to do it manually. This orbiter is great, no more sore back or getting on your hands and knees. One important thing, you of course have to thoroughly vacuum first, because even the slightest dirt or crumbs remain floating around. Once I’m done with the floor (scrubbed with a polishing pad and lightly sprayed soap and then soak up the leftover by putting shop terry clothes towels underneath the orbiter), and then at the end when all has dried nicely, I quickly vacuum the little crumbs that kinda stuck around.

Great purchase
I have cream colored tile & a LOT of it in my home. When we purchased the home my husband thought the dark spots were part of the design, I told him that’s dirt. I tried a good mopping thinking perhaps the prior owners just didn’t clean thoroughly but I quickly saw that wasn’t the case. After finding out what professional tile cleaning would cost I checked out the Amazon reviews & this seemed to have the best reviews. I received the machine & got the orange brush attachment. I did my floors yesterday & it took me about 4 hours to do all my tile but it looks fabulous. Remember I have LOTS of tile. My house is almost 4,000 SF & about a third of it is tile. My husband said it looked like it had just been laid. I think now that it’s really clean the upkeep shouldn’t take as long. Love this machine, well worth the money.

Good combination with Oreck cleaning products
We bought this orbital machine at the same time as the carpet brush, the premist, and dry carpet cleaning powder. Every thing works marvelously well together. I did about 600 square feet right away to excellent effect on a plush carpet that is about two years old and not previously cleaned except for regular vacuuming. The high traffic areas by the doors and between rooms were showing some compression that has been completely eliminated. The color of the carpet has been restored everywhere to like new and it is even softer now than when it was new. We are very pleased with the results and still have enough premist and powder to do the same area another 4 or 5 times. A little goes a long way. The orbital machine is very heavy duty feeling and works very smoothly with little noise and vibration. Just about anyone can operate the machine but it is a little heavy to move around when it isn’t running.

Used this with the natural fiber union brush to clean my porcelain tiles and light colored grout. It saved me hours of time. It is not quite as good as a steamer with acid based cleaner on my hand and knees, but is close enough. It normally takes me about 8 hours by room and this took about 1.5 hours and I was upright the entire time. I suspect that when I clean it a second time it will be even cleaner. I probably used a little too much water and cleaner and needed a mop to get some up. I got the orange bristle brush but it was not soft enough to get in the grout and skirted across the floor. This machine was only $11 more than the 550mc and has a 10 year warranty and a care contract that it can be cleaned and looked over by an authorized dealer once a year.

This machine delivers
I don’t buy into the latest hypes and gizmos. This machine came well reviewed and I certainly did my research, but tried to keep my expectations reasonable. I am very happy and surprised at what a difference it made to my hardwood floors. I was considering refinishing my high-end flooring after seven years of heavy use. Bought the Oreck, 3M pads, wool pads, Bona floor cleaner and Trewax polish. My floors look better than when we moved into our newly constructed home. The 3M pads are great for cleaning, removing the initial wax layer, and then I buffed it with the Oreck wool pad. I also used it on my travertine tiles in the shower. Looks new again!I had the oreck sitting in my shopping cart for two weeks before I bit the bullet and bought it. Don’t hesitate – you won’t regret it!Hope it helps – I rarely review, but felt like I should return the favor in consideration of everyone who helps me with their reviews.

Yes, it can be used to CLEAN wood floors, too.
I searched for hours and hours for a solution for CLEANING my wood floors – not waxing them and not refinishing them, but simply cleaning them. I tried a steam mop first, but was immediately worried I might damage the wood by either stripping the surface or warping it. And regular mops require strength, endurance and willpower to yield results. I’m not looking for a P90X-style workout. I just want my floors clean! I decided to try the Oreck and am amazed with the results. The tricky part is choosing the right pad. The Oreck comes with a white buffer pad that’s useless for cleaning as it’s very porous and non-absorbent. I ordered one of the Oreck carpet bonnets, but no go there either. The bonnets are also not absorbent. But alas, I “MacGyver-ed” the perfect solution. I picked up a bag of square microfiber dusting rags from Home Depot. They’re thin. I just place one of the cloths onto the floor-facing side of the white polishing pad. The fibers lock together quickly, like Velcro, and now my Oreck has a microfiber pad. I spray a tiny amount of wood floor cleaner on the floor and go to work. And the Oreck works like it was designed for no other purpose than wood floor cleaning. When one of the microfiber cloths gets dirty, I peel it off the white polishing pad and attach a new one. On dirty floors, I’ll go through a bunch of the microfiber rags, then just toss them in the washing machine. Easy peasy. And the microfiber rags are cheap.Used in this manner, the Oreck is an absolute wonder, easily lifting dirt and spills, leaving a spotless wood floor behind. I need remarkably little spray to get the job done, too. Much faster, MUCH better results and ultimately much easier than mopping, this is the wood floor cleaning solution I’ve been looking for. I highly recommend it. The Oreck is a serious little beast.

Performed well for my concrete floors
For 20 years I have done an annual maintenance on stained/solvent based wax concrete floors, but wanted another scrubber/waxer that was NOT so heavy and difficult to maneuver. I was reluctant to believe anything without a 100# weight could do what I needed done. This machine did the job. It has a 10 year warranty, where as the “commercial unit” does not. In doing research, this unit is manufactured using a metal primary housing (others don’t). I can carry this unit (my previous one got too heavy for me). I found research led me to so many questions, but in the end I ordered the black brush for soft scrubbing and the white polishing pad (these are spot welded fiber pads similar to the scotch pad material but will not abrade a surface like some of them (color is a reflection of it’s abrasiveness). Normally my process of maintenance involves scrubbing and light reapplication of a solvent wax (using bassine and tampico brushes). I found this piece of equipment and this new process to be much easier and give me the results I wanted. I even had better accessibility around bathroom fixtures because the unit was 12″ in diameter instead of the 13″ MyTee used in prior years…therefore allowing me to get a “shine” in a small half bath that hadn’t happened before. I am very pleased. Solvent waxes require a “burn in”…after 20 years I was able to use a very small amount that appeared to reactivate my existing wax and buff up nicely…without stripping anything. I can now pull out this unit and use it by myself, without having to enlist “help” getting it to the desired location.

Love the Orbiter!
Let me warn you: You may experience an overwhelming amount of joy from seeing the results of this product. If you’re like me, you’ve tried everything to keep the grout between your tile clean…you know, wanting your grout to match all the way to the corners of the room. There’s nothing like walking into a bathroom and seeing slightly darker grout all over, except for the outer edge of the bathroom—where no one has walked—and knowing that lighter colored grout is what your entire bathroom should look like… No matter how much I mopped, scrubbed, bleached, and disinfected, it was darker. That is, until the Orbiter came into my life.Cue the music (it’s a love story). The Orbiter is a heavy little machine. I am a smaller woman and I had to use some muscle to carry into the different bathrooms. However, once you start it, it glides across the floor like it is on an ice rink. The simplest touch sends it in one direction—making it kind of fun to whirl around the rooms. I used the tile cleaner that came with the floor kit. Honestly, I am not exactly sure what kind of stone we have in the house, but I took my chance and used the heavy-duty orange brush. (It may have been that I was angry about all the previous, wasted scrubbing…so I wanted to use the most force as possible!) Within minutes, the Orbiter showed the grout who was boss. My bathrooms looked like a showroom.Any time I use it, I am equally impressed. It’s a breeze to use and it quickly cleans the floors. The Orbiter saves me time, frustration, and keeps my floors looking great!

Best Purchase I Have Ever Made !!!
The Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor Machine is oneof the best purchases I have ever made and I wish I had gottenone years ago.Being a typical homeowner.. I have several different types of flooringin my home.Vinyl / linoleum which needs to be stripped and rewaxed and shined and washed ona regular basis.Carpet which always needs to be cleaned.TileLaminate Flooring.Getting on hands and knees to scrub and clean all these floors is a tremendous wasteof time and energy, not to mention sore knees and elbows. The Oreck Floor Machine makes cleaning floors enjoyable.I started with a linoleum floor… stripped it using Armstong New Start… Applied newwax and buffed it to perfection. A yellowed floor looks almost new again…. All thisin less than an hour !!!Next I cleaned a few carpets. Again the Oreck proved its worth, by making this aneasy task to do and the carpets came out looking cleaner than anything I’ve beenable to do with a steam cleaner. Then I turned to the laminate flooring. Cleaned and polished and buffed 3 floors inless than two hours.Floor maintenance is now a breeze using this machine… It’s easy to use, comes witha variety of attachments for every purpose, does a great job and is easy to store whennot in use. The Ultra comes with an extra long cord (good option) and is more powerfulyet very quiet and easy to handle..10 year warranty… annual checkups and will tackle any job INCLUDING basement floorsand garage floors and tile grout.Don’t let the price fool you… this machine is worth every penny and will save you plenty oftime and energy !!!

Removes acrylic junk (Mop n Glo) from wood floors and is easy to use the Oreck.
The first one I received did not have a manual, had missing styrofoam packaging, the box was wrapped multiple times in clear tape, and was obviously used and returned. It had white spots (soap residue) onnthe cord and the undersidemof the unit. I sent it back since I had purchased a “new” machine. I didn’t know how long someone had used the machine or they mistreated it in some way. The 2nd machine I ordered had the packaging and manual in the box, but the rubber handle was scratched up. I am assuming it was new though. What is wrong with people that they would use a product to clean their carpet or floor, then return it.The Ultra Orbiter (ORB700MB) has a 10 year warranty so I registered it immediately. One reviewer said the warranty was not good if purchased at Amazon, but they didn’t ask me where I bought it when I registered online. We’ll see. The other Oreck Orbiters have shorter cords and less warranty.ALL PADS AND BRUSHES ARE EXTRA!!! Oreck doesn’t know what kind of surface you are using it on so you must order the pads and brushes you need. It DOES come with the part that the pads attach to. All pads and brushes fit all models. It is easy to use once the black piece is on. That part is a little hard to put on. If that part and the pad is not on straight, the Oreck will wobble like crazy. Stop the machine and push it on better and center the pad. This Oreck has sanding screens you can purchase to sand wood floors, but I think it would only be for a small section of wood. An entire room probably needs a huge orbiting sander and an edge sander you can rent at a home improvement store.Different colors of pads and brushes are for different floor surfaces. Research carefully so you don’t ruin your floor. In general, when the pad gets darker in color, it means it is more abrasive. White pad is the least abrasive (besides the cotton bonnet) and brown is the most abrasive. Brown is used with the sanding screens on wood. The beige pad is used for marble. Some brushes and pads are used for concrete so they would destroy any other floor. Do your own research! You can use a bonnet on some carpets and a carpet brush on other carpets. Depends if the carpet is low pile, Berber, and a higher pile. Dry carpet shampoo and a pre-treat spray are used for carpet.I bought the Oreck to remove that awful plastic/acrylic crap ….. Mop N Glow, Orange Glo, or any other product that says it adds shine to restore your floors…that the previous homeowners had put on the wood and marble floors. Eventually, that stuff has to be removed and scrubbed off with ammonia. Not fun! Even the Oreck could not get that junk off the marble floor. Marble is delicate and using ammonia, vinegar, peroxide, or acetone will damage the marble. I had to scrape the acrylic off with a razor blade scraper. However, the Oreck did remove the Mop n Glo off the wood floor very easily so that saved me a lot of scrubbing and scraping on my knees. Be careful though, because you can also remove the polyurethane by accident. Laminate floors are not the same as wood floors so do your research. I have not used it for cleaning carpet yet.

A must have fabulous floor care machine
I couldn’t wait for this machine to arrive. it out performed my expectations. I did my research, the reviews were very helpful and right on. I married into miles of dirty, unsealed grout and have spent many hours on my hands and knees. I purchased a steam cleaner, but it didn’t get me off my knees. I called a cleaning company that uses a tile cleaning machine and when he wanted me to send pictures and square footage because coming out would cost him too much to give me an estimate, I looked again for a machine to clean tile. For a fraction of the cost of one cleaning by a cleaning company, I purchased the machine and all the cleaning products needed for the whole house tile, hardwood, carpeting.I used the Machine this morning to clean a strip of grungy tile grout. It was so easy. I mixed the tile cleaner with hot water in a spray bottle sprayed the grout lines, let it set for three minutes, and turned the machine on. Grunge flew out of the grout lines. It was disgusting and amazing all at the same time. I let the edge of the orange brush follow the grout lines and the machine just followed along easily. The machine is heavy while carrying it, but it can be moved around the floor while running With two fingers. This is a Godsend for me.Update: I’ve had this machine for a few months now and am more amazed than ever. We purchased a foreclosure houe that had things I cannot even describe on the carpets. First thought was to rip out and replace but the carpets where not worn in any way and looked fairly new. There was no deep down odor just a sticky strewn around mess as if molasses was thrown around the house. I was unsure how to proceed but took out the floor machine tried the carpet dry cleaning powder and most came out. As I Had nothing to loose, I mixed up som warm oxy clean solution, sprayed an area, waited a few minutes and took the machine back over it with the brush and then the bonnet and, voile, the carpet was clean. No regrets with purchasing this machine!

Round and round it goes!
Works good on all my household surfaces, wood, polished concrete and tile. Much faster than using a scrub brush. For the wood floors I use a wood floor cleaner with white terry cloth wash cloths stacked up.When one gets build up on it I pull the dirty one off and have a clean one to go underneath it. Many different brushes and cleaning pads for just about any surface. I would highly recommend this item. Good luck.

My Tile Floor Looks New Again and Amazon’s Price is Much Lower Than the Oreck Retailer …
I loved the light gray, textured tile in my kitchen until it refused to release the dirt that was ground in over the year. Scrubbing with a commercial steamer or with a scrub brush did little to bring it back to looking new. After researching floor scrubbers, I decided to purchase a “Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor Machine”. However, the price at our local Oreck store was not to my liking; Oreck confirmed that Amazon LLC is an authorized seller and if I purchased from Amazon, the warranty would be valid.I watched the price on Amazon which fluctuates, from close to full retail to as low as $280 during the Christmas season, and eventually purchased the “Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor Machine”. My cost was about $150 lower than it would have been at the Oreck store. It arrived and I used it immediately – what a surprise to see the floor color and matching grout restored to their original light gray. The “Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor Machine” is easy to maneuver. I am a petite individual and had no problems using the scrubber; it glides effortlessly and requires only that the operator guide it. The long cord makes it possible to clean an entire room without having to plug and unplug the cord as you move. The one downside for some may be that you need to dry the floor as you scrub, but that is not difficult if you use your cleaning solution in a spray bottle. However, that is not enough to cause me to downgrade this scrubber.

If you have tile floor this is A must have
It has been almost 2 years since I bought this machine & finally reviewing it, I am not a pro tile installer so I couldn’t keep the grout from top of the tile during installation & I didn’t know any better way to clean it off so I decided to try this little machine, the flat pads are used to clean the top mess I made with 100% success, I thought I was done with it & stored it for months but when time came to clean a 2700 square feet whole house tile cleaning again I picked it up, this time since all I need to clean was just the grout between tiles I used the brush attachment to scrub it then used my old carpet cleaner to lift the gunk, I recommend not just to home owners but also to tile installers who want to see their job look clean and nice. My only fear was that it goes out of control and damage my wall like the commercial one did to me in past, fortunately this machine can be operated even by kids without any resistance or causing a damage to baseboard or the wall, it’s very smooth even on the rough garage concrete. If the company that makes this machine is reading this comment, one improvement they should make is adding water sanction option where either it comes with its own wetvac or allow attaching existing wetvac.

Great product
I had rented one of these before purchasing and was very satisfied with the results and decided to buy one to have around for full time use. Highly recommended for cleaning tile (which is 80% of my home) and avoid the back breaking need to be on hands and knees. You do need to get a few things to get this to work properly such as the right brushes and something to lightly spray a cleaning agent on the surface ahead of time – definitely you will spend a few more bucks after you buy the base unit. There are other machines out there around this price but the size of this one makes it a breeze to get into smaller rooms and tighter spaces. In my case I did have a big snag with a happy ending though. 1st time I plugged it in it worked about 20 minutes then started smoking a thick white smoke and the built in breaker popped on it. I contacted Oreck and my only option was to take it into a service store since it was not bought direct from Oreck. The good thing here is that Amazon is a reseller for Oreck so the warranty on the item purchased through Amazon was honored at the store and they fixed the problem. Seems I was unlucky enough to get a unit with a faulty motor. The whole thing was swapped out and it works great now. From comments by the store employees this seems to be an extremely rare occurrence (who knows?). It did put a bit of a damper on my cleaning though as I had about a 2 week window before I had a functional unit again. I would have preferred them taking the unit back and giving me a new one but the motor is really the bulk of this thing so it was essentially like getting a new unit except for the handle.

OMG…the best floor cleaner ever!!!!
5 STARS!!!! I can’t say enough good things about this floor cleaner. Super easy to use, cleans the tile and grout without breaking your back. You will be shocked by how clean your floors are. We also bought the blue brush head and the white mop head and our floors look like new. I can’t recommend this enough.

This machine saved my wood floors and my back!
I have sealed hardwood floors. I routinely clean them with a vinegar and water solution and a microfiber mop. They were looking a little dull, so I applied a polish. It looked great at first. However as I moved from one room to another, I saw some hazing. Probably should have changed the pad on my mop. But I didn’t and was left with an awful streaky mess. I tried scrubbing the polish off and quickly found that to be useless. I researched floor cleaning machines and came across this Oreck model. It was $125 less than the identical unit in my local Oreck store. I bought it. The machine arrived today. I had picked up a bottle of the Oreck wood floor cleaner and the white polishing pad from my local store yesterday, so I was ready to use the machine once it arrived. Three hours later, my floors look amazing! I went over the floors twice and turned the polishing pad over when it got dirty. The machine removed the old polish and buffed my floors to a nice shine. I am very pleased. With different available attachments, this machine will clean my tile floors, carpet and can even be used on smooth concrete in the garage. What a great find! I highly recommend it.

Great for the most part
I really like this machine. My tile floors were last cleaned professionally about 5 years ago. Last time I did them hard I was on my hands and knees for days. Have kept them up somewhat with a SwifferJet and pads. Needless to say that is not sufficient. I ordered this machine with the brush and pad kit. What a breeze to clean the floors now. It just glides around with ease. Since it is heavy no pushing is needed. I do hold the spray bottle for stubborn spots and it just eats them off. I have to follow up with three mopings with a wet towel wrapped around the SwifferJet to get the dirt and solution off but that is no problem. My only disappointment is that it doesn’t really clean out my off-white grout as I expected and reported by others, it does clean it somewhat but I am still not satisfied. I am trying some different solutions now to see if something else will do better. I have little doubt I will find the right combination for the grout using this machine. Regardless of the grout, as it is improved, I am very pleased with this machine and do not regret my purchase. It has made tile cleaning so easy and effortless.Delivery was fast and arrived as scheduled and without damage.

I am seriously impressed withe my Oreck Orbiter
In college I used to run a 21″ floor buffer, you know….the one that will knock over a vending machine if you lose control. Well, I wanted something to take care of my grout on my tile floors. Just under 2000 square feet. I considered buying a full size floor machine like I used to run but I feel like I am a bit old to be maneuvering a 100 pound machine anymore. After loads of research I order the Oreck Orbiter. It arrived quickly and I was impressed the first time I turned it on. Enough weight to be able to scrub and very easy to control.I ended up moving every piece of furniture I own, then sprayed my solution, ran the Oreck with their blue brush, used a shop vac to suck everything up and then used a mop to spread plenty of rinse water which was vacuumed as well. Grout looks like it did 25 years ago and the tile feels smooth as glass when I am barefoot!

Just buy it!
This floor scrubber is amazing! I used Zep Grout Cleaner and Brightener (yellow bottle) from the orange big box home store. Squirt the cleaner liberally on your grout lines. It immediately starts foaming, let it sit there and work for five minutes or so. I used the Orange brush on the scrubber and just guide it along. The scrubber does the work, no need to bear down or fight it as it is heavy enough to do the job. Be prepared to wipe your baseboards afterwards as the scrubber will fling dirty solution onto them. After scrubbing immediately follow up with a wet Swiffer. I then laid down a dry terry cloth rag (old towels cut to size) and placed the scrubber on top of the rag. Turn the scrubber on and the brush grabs the rag and dries the floor as it spins the rag. Change the rag as needed for a clean one. No more getting on your hands and knees to dry the floor!Stand back afterwards and have a Holy Cow moment : )

Getting ready.
I like the price and the fact is affordable. I’m gathering things to refinish my oak floors, in the spring. Price, warranty, and quality, are a great deal.
